It has been a while since I have written an article and shared my thoughts with you. I felt drawn to write about the simplicity of life when we seem faced with a world that is quite the opposite.

I recently started walking 10,000 steps a day to make up for living a less active lifestyle. While I walked I could not help but see all the dandelions had turned to giant perfect balls of fluff. I smiled as I recalled how as a little girl I loved picking them, making a wish, and blowing my deepest desires into the wind.

Isn’t it funny how life changes as we get older? We grow up and are taught these little friendly yellow flowers that have detoxifying properties for our bodies are weeds. We stop seeing them with the same magic as we once did. What happened to our clarity of sight and our wishes? Do we remember the magic of having hope? I know what you may be thinking. Hope? But how? Seriously, look at the world it is a mess. We are facing a pandemic, and people are suffering around the world for reasons that are not COVID-19 related.

Then we hear about George Floyd a man that was trying to better his life and moved to Minnesota. Described by those that loved him as helpful, kind, a gentle giant, and a spiritual man. There are no words to describe what I felt upon hearing what he suffered before his murder and seeing the photo taken a few moments before. The only thing I can say is we as a human race need to step up and stand up for a better life and future for ALL. Regardless of what race, colour, creed, sexual preference…etc…we all deserve to live a life of peace and wellbeing. Justice needs to be served for the atrocities committed followed by education and rehabilitation for those that have learned to hate.

We have generations that follow after us, they observe the world we accept and are creating. They are cherished souls that deserve the same innocence, to walk safely down the street, pick up a dandelion, and show their loved one how their wishes travel in the air. It takes all of us individually to do the work within to create this type of world.

By healing within and really examining ourselves, remembering that little one we once were. Remember the innocence, the pure love - we could not bring ourselves to harm another. How powerful to see the world through the eyes of love, we would look at each precious soul before us with eyes of wonder and love.

I think of the future generations and my heart is heavy, knowing they deserve so much better. Let’s remember our innocence and how love is the way forward.
