Reconnect with your inner child. You know the one! The one that laughed till their bellyached, the one who would love to sing or act silly. I have loved seeing how spending time indoors has brought out the creative, funny side in so many!

When was the last time you danced freely? Or skipped down the lane on a walk? I will admit when I walk through the park behind my home I will dance and even skip down the sidewalk. It is great and eventually, it doesn’t matter much if people see me. It is that inner child that lives within us until our last breath that has so many answers to life’s concerns today. We need to laugh, dance, sing and that means even through difficult times.

Another magical exercise I have done is this: look at a photo of when you were little write down words of love, affirmation, and comfort in your journal. It could be in the form of a letter. Tell that little one how precious they are and how much you cherish their innocence and laughter. Next, you can do the reverse and have that precious little soul write you a letter of encouragement and perhaps the tips they give you on what you used to love that you have forgotten. What sage advice would they give you? What were some of your favourite hobbies? Did you love to draw, paint, do magic tricks, or make crafts? Why not try those activities again as an adult? I think you would be amazed at the joy you feel revisiting the simpler things in life again. Perhaps this is a time to remember who we are and how precious each moment in life is.

My friends who work in resorts tell me how amazingly funny people are after arriving from abroad on vacation. Why wait until we are on vacation to let loose and have that inner child live free? We can do that more regularly! We can give ourselves permission to have fun in the present moment.

I send you all so much love and health. Be well, dance, laugh and find ways to share this childlike quality with others.
